***Event Postponed to Fall 2019***: NYLN 2019 Spring Conference and Annual Meeting

PURPOSE: to facilitate the promotion of evidence-based mentoring and coaching programs in nursing education; fostering positive mentor, mentee, and institutional outcomes including: faculty retention, greater propensity for faculty career development, and healthier work environments in academia, as envisioned in the NLN Position Statement on Mentoring of Nurse Faculty in 2006.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:                                                                                                                                           

Attendees will:

1. explore the concept of mentoring and coaching in nursing education.

2. appraise the application of faculty to faculty coaching using a Caritas Coach ® model.

3. describe how to facilitate the promotion of new mentoring programs through the presentation of “guiding” steps.

4. engage in the implementation of the launch of the NYLN Mentoring Program for Nursing Education.
